10 gallon grow bag -black

from $10.00

These BPA- free, Food-Safe fabric grow bags from Bootstrap Farmer are the most durable ones we’ve found (especially their handles)! You can even throw them in the washing machine (on gentle cycle) at the end of the season and they fold flat for easy storage.

They should last for multiple seasons of gardening while creating an oxygen-healthy root system for plants. Grow bags provide plenty of space for plants by air pruning roots, rather than “root circling,” which you get from traditional plastic pots. Root circling causes girdling that restricts water transportation and leads to structural defects. When the roots reach the edge of a traditional pot, they keep looking for more room to grow. With fabric grow pots, when the roots reach the end of the pot, they reach air – this cues the roots to stop growing and direct all their energy up top.

Each 10 gallon grow bag is 14.5” diameter and 14” deep and needs approx. 1.3 cubic feet of a lightweight soil mix to be filled to the top.

We strongly recommend placing your grow bag on top of a pot elevator and saucer to promote even better drainage, and to prevent staining of the surface below your pot if placing on a patio or on shelving/benches in a greenhouse. Consider adding on a mobile plant stand to move cold sensitive plants indoors when needed or just to move them around your living space as you’d like!
