This Goji Berry (Lycium barbarum), is a low maintenance (although can spread!), cold hardy, and drought tolerant deciduous shrub that produces red berries (Lycium ruthenicum) that are packed with nutrients. The berries are supercharged with high amounts of vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, B vitamins, fatty acids and amino acids.
We’ve found that, in Bend, they put on some fruit in the summer, but most of the harvest comes in the fall. Goji Berries have a sweet, tangy flavor and can be eaten fresh or added to smoothies, juices, or even made into tea.
